8/18 慰霊祭で献花をして参りました。戦没者の慰霊と同時に、100年以上も前にダバオに入植者した日本人の苦労と努力が、現在のダバオと日本の強い絆の礎となってることを改めて認識しました。また、こうしたユニークな生い立ちが、この町のアイデンティティであるという、ミンタル新バランガイキャプテンであるバルガメント氏の言葉が印象的でした。
We offered flowers at IREISAI on August 18, 2018 to pray for the souls of the war victims. It reminded us once again that the Japanese settled in Davao more than a hundred years ago, and their hardship and efforts built a currently strong connection between Davao and Japan. Also, the new Barangay Captain Mr. Bargament’s observation that “Mintal’s identity is unique history.” Is impressed.
